About NJD

Kit and neko, the team of two that form the powerhouse of Neko-jin Designs travel over thirty thousand miles a year in a hot blue PT Cruiser named Li spreading a wealth of happiness and joy through their handmade creations.

That's the good parts version. And it's a pretty sweet gig. We started NJD in 2007 after ending a stressful career in the fibre arts. neko had been scouting out the art community for years before, a well-earned degree from the Maine College Art tucked securely in her utility belt. I had done the retail thing for awhile before declaring freedom from the angst of micro managers.

Penniless, but ambitious, we threw our combined skills in with a healthy dose of charisma and declared the world in need of some ridiculously adorable [sometimes gay] designs.

And thus, we were.

Liberated from the clutches of someone else's business plan and uncompromising schedule, I went back to school to earn my degree. I currently attend Smith College with an intended major in Comparative Religion.

[It makes sense, I promise.]

neko was finally able to fulfill her dream of being an illustrator, a desire set forth decades ago by the talented folks of Mirage Studios.

[is it coincidence, then, that we ended up in Northampton, MA?]

That's the slightly extended version.

For the most detailed accounts of our adventures, I bequeath to thee this holiest of links:
