Commissions & Special Orders
We love to make things for people. That's why we do what we do. And when someone out there likes what we do enough to request something customized, it's the highest form of flattery.
Commissions are some of the things we do best. Please understand, special orders must be paid in full in advance and may take several weeks to a couple of months to complete. Now here's brief rundown of the different categories.
One-of-a-kind customs
One or more of our designs on a specific item. For example, our best selling commission items are hooded sweatshirts. We have a large selection of designs, but everyone has his/her favourite. Generally speaking, we only print what is largely popular--but if you've got a character or design you love above others, we'd be more than happy to put it on a custom item. These types of commissions have prices comparable to those pre-made on the website.
Your own design or idea on a product of your choosing. Is there an image you've made that you're particularly fond of that you want to have on a bag? A hoodie? We'd love to help. We've made many an artist their own special useable art piece. We've even put poems on pillows. It's all in a day's work to the crew of NJD. If you can dream it, we can help make it a reality. Commissions in this category are priced by complexity. Please feel free to email with an idea for a ballpark price quote.
Character mock-ups and illustrations. neko loves to draw. It's virtually the basis of our business. Original characters, a special take on our own characters, even fanart--there's nothing off limits to our resident artist. If you've got a vision, she'd love to take a crack at it. Prices depend on sketch vs. ink vs. full colour as well as number of characters and background. Please drop neko a line to start a dialogue.
Professional Inquiries and Bulk Orders
Contract work. The artists of NJD are available as independent contractors in such realms as book illustration, graphic design, and prose or editorial writing. Cost is a reflection of work involved and will be negotiated.
Bulk items. Need a lot of something for a fundraiser, a club, or just to be fair to all your friends [or kids]? We can help. Pins, patches, and coffee mugs are just a few of the items we've made in bulk for people. Please email for bulk pricing.
